I am 17 years old and have had my period since I was11. It's always been regular, but extremely painful. I went to the ER for severe pain and was almost diagnosed with appendicitis, but then I had another ultra sound and they found ovarian cysts. I was put on birth control to help. My periods have aways been 7-8 days long and very heavy wih extreme cramps. The birth control helped for a few months but all the symptoms are back again. I get bad headaches too. Does this sound like I could have endo?

Sounds very much like endometriosis to me although I am by no means a gynecologist. What you need is to find a gynecologist who will work with you to help you find the best solution for your pain. It could also be any number of female reproductive system diseases like cysts, fibroids, etcetra.

Maybe you need a stronger hormonal birth control such as depo provera. Keep researching all your options on the internet. Go to reliable websites. There are several different options for treatment of this disease each varying according to severity of disease, your age, and if you wish to preserve fertility for future childbearing. And make the appt as soon as you can with the gyno. The gyno might have to do something called an exploratory laporoscopy to give you a definite diagnosis with prognosis (expected outlook). Worst case scenario is a hysterectomy but you are way too young for that. Good luck.

Also be sure to get tested for all stds/ hiv. Most stds do not cause severe pain though.
