Yes, your back can be hurt and nothing can show up on x-ray, MRI, etc. I suffer from terrible chronic back pain (that I know is from a botched epidural) but nothing shows up on any tests I've gotten over the past 3 years, and nothing has helped. I'm stuck taking pain medication every day and I feel like the doctors have all just given up on trying to fix the problem so I'm just dealing with the pain and not the problem. I hope they can find out what's wrong with you. Maybe try a pain management Dr. Good luck.
