Weird bump on my knee

A bump on my knee appeared about 3-4 weeks ago. If I put pressure on it(like sit up on my knee on where the bump is) it is painful. The very tip of the bump looked like loose skin, so I tried to pull it off. It did not hurt and there was only a spec a blood start to appear but I kept trying to pull away the excess (still not hurting). I have heard that it could be an in grown hair, a wart, or couple of other things...how do I know what it is without contacting a doctor..and how do i make it go away?

your best bet is to see a doctor. But, if you refuse to see one, I suggest process of elimination. A wart can be taken care of by freezing it which you can do easily by following instructions on a container bought at the drug store for wart removal. There is a good chance it is an ingrown hair too. just keep eliminating your options and if you run out and pain persists do yourself a favor and at least go to a free clinic or a doctor's office. It could be something benign, but this could also be harmful to you.
