Hello im scared that i might have an issue with my kidneys. Im having back pain about 3 inches above my belly button but on my back. I have a loss of appetite my ankles dont look swollen im not itchy but the pain has been there for about a week and a half now.Going to a doctor isnt really an option atm if anyone could help me that would be great im kind of freaking out thanks

Only imaging and a lab panel would be able to definitively tell if there is an issue with your kidneys or ureter. Given the length of time this has been occurring, I doubt that it is a stone. Also, the kidneys are located on either side of the vertebral column; in your description, you did not mention whether or not that is the case. I'm also assuming that there has been no trouble or pain during urination, since you did not mention that as a symptom.
All-in-all, I don't think it's a kidney problem. However, it's very hard to tell online. The best option is to get to the doctor. If the problem is a lack of insurance, tell the doctor about the issue. Many times, a doctor will cut the cost of the office visit and if medication is needed, they often have "free samples."
