I once weighed 230 pounds and I currently weigh 142 pounds.I have 4 more pounds to lose which is great and I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF and I look GREAT.But sometimes I'll go over my calories like maybe 500 calories over.Basically 1400 is to lose one pound a week and 1900 is to maintain my current weight. And today I had 1940 calories. But I do drink lots of water and I also jog. Anyway I was on this website for young people my age called Tinychat and seen a lot of fat women. It worried me that I would gain weight again. But I don't go over a lot and I am active.

Hi

I am in a very similar situation. I weight 142 pounds as well and I used to weight 170. I think it is normal to be afraid of gaining weight, but you have to distinguish between appropriate fear and inappropriate fear. What I mean is that it is normal to be concerned about gaining weight. Everyone is. If you werent then you would eat all you want and never think about your health. A healthy fear helps you practice good self discipline. However, if you worry too much about getting fat, it can lead to anorexia or bulimia. I dont mean to be dramatic, but it does happen. Many people who are constantly dieting can develop these disorders and they both stem from an extreme fear of getting fat. The key word is extreme. So, if you really want to make sure that you are maintaing a healthy weight, my advice would be to keep a food journal for one week. Write down everything you eat and I mean everything. Then look over your journal. Do you go over your calories once a week or maybe 3 times a week? If so, then you need to remove one or two things that is unhealthy and replace it witha healthy thing. You need to keep a record for an extended time so that you can see whether you are on the right path or not. It is important to find out how many times you go over your calories and how often. Then you need to find healthy habits with diet and exercise to maintain a lifelong healthy weight.
