I usually don't smoke, On very rare occasions I smoke at hookah bars & in this case I had a small gathering at my place to smoke flavored Chocolate mint tobacco on the Hookah ,at my house. We had run out of coals,so we decided to light it up without coals. Just with fluid itself & of course, It was different..It made it difficult to inhale & it burnt my throat,left an itch & irritation in my throat ever since. The days after this happened, I was feeling lightheaded, constantly tired, dehydrated at all times even after drinking a gallon of water, sneezing just a bit but not sick, & my throat has been sounding a bit different..deeper,slightly rusty-ish. [I'm a chick] & It's been like this for 2 weeks now..Does puberty happen in your voice when you're 21 years old like me?? I am concerned about my throat.. what could it be??

I don't know why it happened but it did do that to me too. Btw how did you light the hookah? You should try hookah bubbles!!!

Are you saying that you lit up the hookah with lighter fluid? If so, of course you're sick. That is a very dangerous thing to do. You should never inhale burning lighter fluid. You apparently burnt/irritated your throat, maybe your vocal cords, etc. You should contact a doctor ASAP or even go to the ER if you're still sick. You're lucky you're alive.
